Coltura Statement on Washington State's Instant Rebates Program
Today, Governor Jay Inslee announced the launch of new and innovative electric vehicle incentives designed to boost opportunities to help low-income families make the switch. The new Instant Rebates Program, administered by the Washington State Department of Commerce, will provide between $2,500 and $9,000 toward the purchase or lease of an EV, available at the point of sale.
Matthew Metz, Coltura’s Founder and Co-Executive Director issued the following statement:
“Hats off to Governor Inslee and our state leaders for rolling out these innovative programs to help lower the cost of driving for low-income drivers by facilitating access to electric vehicles. We look forward to working with the Department of Commerce and other stakeholders and others to steer these incentives to the households using the most gasoline who stand to save the most money by switching to an EV in order to maximize the environmental, economic and equity benefits.”
